From One Act to a Movement
The United States of Kindness is a national campaign launching in 2026 to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary through action: 250 Acts of Kindness. Together, we will unite individuals, schools, businesses, and communities to show that kindness is not only personal, it is patriotic.
The campaign brings together brands, educators, civic leaders, first responders, and nonprofits to create a more connected and compassionate nation through simple, everyday acts of kindness.
Kindness Works
Kindness has the power to change lives, strengthen communities, and rebuild trust. It creates connection where there is division and hope where there is discouragement. Our purpose is to make kindness visible and measurable across the nation and transforming how we connect, lead, and live together.
Kindness is uplifting and transformative. Research shows it improves mental and physical health, increases social connection, enhances learning environments, and strengthens workplace culture.
Launched by Kindland, an initiative of the Values-in-Action Foundation, the movement builds on three decades of research-based programs that have reached more than 9,000 schools and 2.6 million students.
Meet the United States of Kindness
The United States of Kindness is led by the Values-in-Action Foundation and its Kindland initiative, backed by more than 30 years of experience proving that kindness works. Their team has implemented evidence-based programs in thousands of schools and communities, demonstrating measurable results in improving culture, connection, and well-being.
Guiding this effort is a national coalition of civic, corporate, and educational leaders who share one goal: to make kindness a defining American value. The Kindland National and Ohio Councils serve as advisory partners, providing strategic insight and connections to help carry this message across every sector and state.
