WHEREAS, the year 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, a milestone that invites reflection on the shared values that unite our nation and strengthen civic life; and

WHEREAS, the United States of Kindness is a nationwide campaign launching in 2026 that invites individuals, organizations, schools, businesses, and communities to participate in 250 Acts of Kindness, elevating positive action already taking place and connecting it to a shared national purpose; and

WHEREAS, research and experience show that kindness strengthens trust, wellbeing, learning environments, workplaces, and communities, contributing to stronger relationships, healthier civic engagement, and a more connected and resilient society; and

WHEREAS, at a time when many Americans experience division or disconnection, kindness offers a practical and unifying way for people of all backgrounds to contribute positively to their communities; and

WHEREAS, participation in the United States of Kindness does not require new programs or mandates, but encourages individuals and institutions to elevate acts of kindness already taking place and to inspire others through shared stories and visible action;
